Privacy Policy

Effective Date: 2026-08-21

This Privacy Policy applies to ArchiveCut. It explains what personal data may be collected, how it is used, and your rights regarding that data.

What is Personal Data?

“Personal Data” refers to information that directly identifies you or information that can reasonably be used to identify you.

What Personal Data Do I Collect?

ArchiveCut does not collect Personal Data. Anonymized, non-personal usage data may be collected as described in the Analytics section below.

Analytics

ArchiveCut may use TelemetryDeck, a privacy-friendly analytics service, to understand general app usage. TelemetryDeck processes anonymized data and cannot use it to identify you.

Anonymized data that may be collected includes:

  • App usage events, such as “app launched”
  • Device metadata, such as device type and system version

The TelemetryDeck SDK is open source and available on GitHub. For more information on what TelemetryDeck collects and how it anonymizes data, see their Privacy FAQ.

Optional Support and Feedback

When you click Report an Issue, ArchiveCut prepares a diagnostic report on your Mac and opens a draft email. The report includes technical details about your Mac and the affected files, but never any video or audio. You can review everything before sending and, when available, choose to attach a Final Cut Pro XML file or archive report.

You can also send optional feedback through a Google Form. When you contact me by email or through the form, I use only the information you provide to respond, troubleshoot issues, and improve ArchiveCut.
